The solid Miners were at their best Yesterday at the Lafia Township Stadium when they thumped visiting Peoples Elephants 4-3 in the Nigeria Professional League week 23 game.
This is the second time the Seven times Winners of The Nigeria League are losing on the road in four days when they fell to a 4-3 loss against Nasarawa United in Lafia.
Though it was the People’s Elephants who opened thescoring with a strick from Former Nasarawa United forward Abdulrahman Bashir who scored on his return to Lafia to give Enyimba a 26th-minute lead, but the home team’s bullish response blew the visitors away.
Quick goals from Emmanuel Makama, Najeem Olukokun and Zinte Udeh within 16 first-half minutes handed the Solid Miners a clear advantage.
Enyimba responded through Chinedu Udeagha and Freedom Omofoman, but Makama’s second – a 79th-minute penalty – effectively sealed maximum points for the hosts, who move three points clear of the dropzone.
