All is set for the first edition of FEDUGAMES to hold in Lafia the Nasarawa State capital.
The state capital will witness top sports actions for 10 days as over 15,000 athletes and officials from parastatals, agencies and department in the Ministry of Education in the country would converged in the state for the First edition of the Federal Ministry of Education Games (FEDUGAMES) Starting from November 30 to December 7, 2017.
According to Faith Udochukwu, the Media Coordinator of the Games, the Games are the first of its kind to be hosted in the country and will last for 10 days. She said that the Games torch will arrive in Lafia on November 28, while the official opening ceremony has been fixed for December and it’s expected that the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State Alhaji Tanko Al-Makura will declare the game open On the day.
Athletes are expected to compete in 14 scoring events and two demonstration sports. Nasafocus garthered that the Nigeria University Commission that have been training hard for the Games promises to win the overall title, as the organisers have assured of adequate security, while the competition lasts.
