The Chairman of Nasarawa State Football Association who doubles as the Chairman Nigeria Nationwide League One (NLO) and board member Nigeria football Federation (NFF) Alh. Mohammed Alkali and four top football stakeholders were recognized with the awards of excellence by the Nigeria Referees Association, Nasarawa State chapter.

The event took place in the hall of Macfess hotel Lafia , the Nasarawa state capital with top officials of the NRA from the North Central in attendance .

According to the host chapter , the award recipients played vital role in harnessing the development of refereeing and the development of the game of football from the grassroots most especially within the North Central and so deserve special recognition.

Alhaji Mohammed Alkali who since his assumption into the office as chairman of Nasarawa State football Association (NASFA) the people of Nasarawa State experienced drastic reformation of football in the state which the referees in Nasarawa State felt they are the biggest gainers.

The introduction of organized football competitions in the state has seen more referees gaining experience which has helped in promoting them to officiate to national Level as well as international .

Mr. David Akolo Allu ‘s award.

David Akolo Allu the CEO and chairman of Bet9ja NNL side Aklosendi Int’l FC Lafia was presented with an award of excellence for his effort in uplifting the youth within and outside the state, creating job opportunities by running two clubs in the NNL and the NLO.

Ahmed Yusuf fresh who is known as the Saudaunar Kwallon kafa because of his prowess in grassroots development, which is why the NRA deem it fit to to give him that regonition because of his contributions towards the development of football from the grassroots .

Alh. Ahmed Ibrahim popularly known as Coach Bros was not left out in the award presentation as he was given that recognition with an award for changing the life of young footballers across the country through grassroots development.

The NRA also recognised their own head Mr. Tade Azeez for introducing more of the youth into the referee system and now has an adverse effect which we have more referees going international.

The Vice Chairman, Nasarawa State Football Association (NASFA) Haladu Akwashiki who represented Alh. Mohammed Alkali who was away on national duties, spoke on behalf of the award recipients.

In the acceptance speech , Akwashiki showered ecomiums on the NRA For recognizing and awarding those who has developed football to another positive level. He encouraged the NRA to keep striving hard in order to have more people recognized in taking the game from the grassroots to international level.
