Nasarawa Guber Poll Mere Allocation Of Scores – Maku Alleges
Labaran Maku, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Nasarawa State has rejected the results of the just concluded governorship election in the state, says the result of the election was allocation of figures to political parties.
Maku stated this during a press briefing in Lafia, the state capital.
Maku said the outcome of the election fell short of meeting the minimum standard required for any democratic process.
According to him, “the purported figures and the so-called result presented and declared by the INEC is completely contrary to the actual votes cast by the people of Nasarawa State in the governorship election.
“Votes were allocated to parties prior to the election and simply forced on the people through the various crimes committed on Election Day.
“The votes allocated to APGA were far lower than the number of people who attended our campaign launch on January 23, 2019.
He alleged that the election was characterized by malpractices such as ballot paper snatching, intimidation of voters and non-use of card readers in most of the polling units across the state.
Mr Labaran Maku called for an independent investigation on how the results of the elections emanated from the polling units to the collation centres.
The APGA Governorship Candidate added that the party is making consultation with a view to taking the next line of action.
