Governor Umaru Tanko Almakura had on the 15th of November, 2017 celebrated his birthday at his popular hotel(TA’AL CONFERENCE HOTEL LAFIA) with his family and friends from all works of life.
Some of the activities that marked the day included Distribution of 13000 chairs to primary schools across the 13 local Government Areas of the state which he kickstarted from his Alma mater Donama primary school in Lafia where he addressed the pupils of the school encouraging them to study hard and become the future leaders. In his wrods
“I want to identify with primary schools today because I was like them when I was learning here at the Donama Primary School during my primary school days in 1957.
He also had a stop over at the Lafia East Primary School where he also addressed the pupils and their teachers, meanwhile it was a celebration of luck for little miss Hammamatu who is a physically challenged but was still struggling to have a glimpse of the Executive Governor and was lucky to be in the front row where luck ran into her when the amiable governor noticed her and called her out,
touched by her condition( having one leg and walking with crutches) the Governor sort to know her predicament and was told how a truch ran over her sometime last year and crushed her leg which led to the amputation of the leg from the upper side of her thigh. After hearing her story the Governor invited her and her guardian to the Government house where she had dinner with the Governor and other Executives of his cabinet but that wasn’t all, she was presented with a special tricycle to aid her Movement
and also promised to speak to some of his doctors to know the possibility of her getting aher a prosthetic leg and also gave her some token to give to her mum.
