NLC confernce: Nasarawa chapter assure contestants of fair play
Ahead of it delegates conference slated for 25th April 2019, the current leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress NLC has promised to give a level playing ground to all those seeking elective position of the workers union in the state.
The number one Union leader in Nasarawa state,Comrade Abdullahi Adeka,on Friday in his office at the Labour House,along Makurdi road,Lafia,said the beauty of the forthcoming conference, which is not a do or die affairs was that it allow members of the union to aspire for whatever position of the state NLC.
Adeka who spoke through his secretary..added that no individual would be intimidated or subjected to any act of impunity,pointed out that despite his ambition for reelection,delegates drawn from affiliate unions should freely exercise their franchise without faer of harressment from any quarters.
According to him,the tradition of the NLC allowed for the conduct of states delegates conference,where a new executives are expected to be elected,after the National delegate conference” You would recalled that the national delegates conference was held last month and the national president Comrade Ayuba Wabba,was returned elected for another four years tenure,likewise in Nasarawa state we are set for the state delegates conference.
He said a Three man accreditation committee has been formed and have commenced work already as aspirants had started picking their forms,to be filled and returned to the committee on or before 18th of April.
He further explained that all arrangement for a smooth and rancour free conference had been concluded and that venue for the conference will be at the Abacha youth center,Lafia.
The chairman reiterated that the significance of the conference is that it is the highest decision making meeting where new leaders are elected to run the affairs of the union,vis a vis the workers welfare in the state.
The AUTHORITY report that the Nasarawa state chapter recently intervened and end a Three days warning strike embarked upon by the Nigeria Medical Association,Nasarawa chapter,where the state government has expressed it readiness to addressed some of the doctors agitations.
