Gov. Sule Receives Report On Almajiris
He also thanked the traditional institutions in the state for their support in the fight against the COVOD19 pandemic that is threatening human existence globally at the moment.
He stressed that all the measures taken by the state government are aimed protecting and guarding the people of the state from contracting and spreading the novel Coronavirus and not to place any forms of hardship on the people.
Governor Abdullahi Sule further stressed that the return of these Almajiris will be done in phases and in collaboration with the Governors of the affected states.
“Tsangaya teachers will lead these children back to their parents in their respective localities in the their states in order to ensure that they return to same place they came from” Gov. Sule added.
“As soon as the actual statistics are made available, the process for the deployment of these children will commence” The Governor maintained.
Speaking earlier, the Emir of Lafia, Justice Sidi Bage Muhammad retired appreciated the Governor for finding them worthy of carrying out this assignment Almajiris which seems to have almost defiled all solutions but the Governor has taken it upon himself to curtail the scourge in the state, a step worth commending.
The traditional ruler said the report recommends immediate action in evacuating the children below the age of 10 years in the phase 1.
“After that of those below the age of 10 years, the others too will be addressed, certain criteria and standards must be met before any Almajiri will be allowed to remain in the state”, the Emir stressed.
