Electoral Observers Express Concern Over Vote Cancellations
Electoral Observers in the March 9 governorship elections in Nasarawa State say the rate of votes cancellation in the state has become a source of concern and there is an urgent need for the electoral umpire to address the challenge in order to build confidence in the minds of the electorate.
Nasarawa is one of the states affected by the cancellation of votes the just concluded 2019 general elections in Karu local government area of the state over 90,000 votes were cancelled during the governorship election.
The observers said no free and fair election will witness such unprecedented vote cancellation and other irregularities.
The observers, therefore, called on INEC and other relevant authorities to ensure that adequate measures are put in place to ensure the credibility of the electoral process in Nigeria
