Deputy Gov’s attackers demand N15m ransom for 12 kidnapped victims
Bandits that attacked the convoy of Nasarawa State Deputy Governor Emmanuel Akabe, killing three police officers and two civilians, have contacted families of victims kidnapped during the attack.
The gunmen, who kidnapped about twelve people travelling in Toyota picnic bus, contacted families of the driver of the vehicle, Moyi Oshafu, demanding N15 million ransom before his release.
Recall that the victims ran into the kidnappers who took them away before the arrival of the deputy governor’s police escort who engaged them in a shootout before they were killed.
The victims are: Gwanjere Simeon Yakubu, a revenue officer at Nasarawa Eggon local government; Akatiki David Abuson, a married woman and Moyi Oshafu, the driver of the vehicle.
According to Nuhu Oshafu, the man who confirmed the abduction of his brother, Moyi Oshafu, disclosed that the bandits had contacted them, demanding for N15 Million before they release him.
“They have contacted us, demanding for 15 million Naira. My brother was driving a Toyota picnic bus when he was kidnapped,” Mr Oshafu stated.
However we earlier reported increased security surveillance on the road as police officers were sighted in different locations.
Recall that Governor Abdullahi Sule had promise to ensure safety for the citizens in the state and bring the perpetuators to book.
