Nasarawa PMAN strikes a synergy deal with NSCDC
The officials of Nasarawa state chapter of Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria (PMAN) yesterday 11/2/2019 paid a Courtesy visit to the State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Mohammed Gidado Fari In Lafia.
During the visit the Nasarawa State PMAN Governor Mr. Stephen Shammah told the commandant that they were in his office to register their presence in the state with the commission and to seek for a synergy to help curb the excesses of entertainers and users of their intellectual properties in the state to enable entertainers to begin to reap the fruit of their Labours.
In his response the state Commandant of NSCDC welcomed thePMAN officials and said the he’s a lover of entertainment and knows the worth of the entertainment industry is properly harnessed, though he regretted that mostly the youths are the perpetrators of violence in the society and urged PMAN to use entertainment in promoting peace and order in the society especially during the electioneering period.
He also accepted to work together to ensure nobody uses the artistes work without obtaining proper right from necessary quarters. He also used to opportunity to invite PMAN to their forthcoming program to which the PMAN promptly affirm their availability to participate.
PMAN officials later had a brief meeting where they deliberated and agreed to give artistes in the state till September to register before enforcing the law of No register No show performance for artistes in the state.
