Fires razes two female hostels at govt. college in keffi.
Nasafocus reporter gathered that the inferno started around 7:40pm on Sunday and raged on to Monday morning, reducing the entire structure to ashes.
“The students were said to be in the dining hall when the fire started. Study material and other properties of the students were all razed down, Nothing was removed.
Our reporter also gathered that One student who did not go to the dining hall and was sleeping in one of the hostels, was almost caught in the incident but she sensed the smoke and jumped through the window and sustained some minor injuries And that was the only causualty recorded on yhd dide of the students.
According to source from the school the incident was “shocking and devastating”, saying that it was the first in the history of the 18-year-old school.
As at the time of filing this report on Monday smoke can still be seen from rubbles.
Nasafocus agent was told the students were already prepared for their first term Examination which was expected to start today monday before the unexpected happened on the sunday night.
“The first term examination was scheduled to start today, but with this development, no one is sure of what to do next. We shall wait for further directives from the Federal Ministry of Education,” one of the staffs said.
