BINGHAM University matriculates 591 students

Bingham University, a private institution in Nasarawa State, has matriculated 591 students.

At the matriculation ceremony this week, the acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Williams Barnabas Quirix said, “I and calling on the newly matriculated students to know that it is not everyone who can afford a university education.

“Therefore they cannot always do whatever you want and however you want it and become what you should become in life, being a member of an academic environment without academic excellence is a great waste of time and money,” he said.

According to him drug abuse, smoking, alcoholism, cultism and misuse of social media are some of the negative tendencies which pose daunting challenges to young people today.

Professor Williams Barnabas Quirix however enjoined them to be careful with new friends and to associate with like minds that will make their stay in the university worthwhile towards achieving academic excellence.

He said Bingham University does not tolerate any form of disregard for rules and regulations.
