A serving female corps member from Nasarawa State, Uwayi Shammah (Beauty), has sunk a borehole to provide the people of Kanje community in Wamba LG of the state with potable water.
Kanja, a community of over a hundred persons now has a source of potable water.
The borehole project, which was self-financed, was to address the age-long lack of access to drinking water in the community.
Shammah, a graduate of Geography Education from State University serves at the Nigerian Defence Headquarters (DHQ) in Abuja.
The project which was recently commissioned for use would also benefit residents of neighbouring communities who suffer similar challenges.
A power set (generator) was also provided by the corps member to pump water.
